OLD SACRAMENTO WATERFRONT
The Old Sacramento Waterfront Deck Renovation is a key infrastructure improvement project focused on restoring safety, accessibility, and historic character to one of Sacramento’s most prominent riverfront destinations. After structural engineers determined that decades of weather exposure had compromised the existing deck, the area was closed in 2024 to protect public safety.
The City of Sacramento allocated approximately $3 million in construction funding to support the full demolition and reconstruction of the deck as part of a broader effort to reinvest in and revitalize Old Sacramento. The project included modern structural upgrades designed to meet current safety and accessibility standards while preserving the district’s historic integrity.
SkyLine, in collaboration with Layher products, supported the project by providing a Hung Scaffold system over the Sacramento River, enabling safe and efficient access for crews working over water. This critical access solution helped ensure construction efficiency while contributing to the successful restoration of a historic waterfront asset and renewed community confidence in Old Sacramento.
